Trail description and tips
Turda Gorge is a very popular place with locals and tourists alike due to its beauty and proximity to Cluj (less than an hour drive). There are several options one has here: hiking the circular trail as we are suggesting (the more difficult option), walking the trail inside the gorge (popular during hot summer months) or a combination of the two. The first option is worth the effort as it will give you breathtaking views inside the gorge from high above.
The spectacular rock formation is a small canyon carved by the small Hasdate river. Its high, verticall walls are very good for professional climbers - you'll often see them practicing here.
Follow your favorite GPS app's instructions to get to the parking lot. Weekends are usually busy here, especially during summer months. Most people will walk through the gorge, so if you are planning to do the circular trail this won't be an issue.
